A certification, not a marketing claim
"Luxury villa" means nothing in itself: anyone can write it in a listing. The French holiday rental rating, by contrast, is awarded by an accredited body following an on-site inspection against an official standard. It is valid for five years and carries a registration number that can be checked.
Villa Rapha holds 5 stars, the highest level of that standard, under registration number 97113000574AX. The two suite-apartments on the estate, Lagon and Corail, are rated 3 stars.
Measured criteria, not impressions
The standard assesses more than a hundred separate points, grouped into three broad areas. At five stars, the requirements include:
- Floor area. A minimum living space per occupant, with bedrooms and bathrooms of specified dimensions — hence 260 m² for eight guests.
- Equipment. Air conditioning, bedding, appliances, internet connection, and their working condition.
- Comfort and hospitality. Quality of furnishings, cleanliness, guest information, availability of a contact person, welcome documentation.
- Accessibility and safety. Signage, safety equipment, compliance of installations.
What that means for you is simple: what you see in the photographs has been verified by an independent third party. It is the difference between a house that presents well and a house that has been inspected.

The villa spans 260 m² of living space in the countryside of Le Gosier, on Grande-Terre. Four air-conditioned bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. A 30 m² master suite upstairs with dressing room, freestanding bath, private terrace, sun deck and jacuzzi. Three ground-floor bedrooms opening onto the pool.
Outside: a ten-metre pool with sun deck and outdoor shower, a bioclimatic pergola, a carbet with Moroccan seating, and private parking within the enclosed grounds.

What no rating system measures
The certification covers the building and its equipment. It says nothing about how you are received — and that is what guests actually remember.
Every stay includes a personal welcome and key handover, house linen, end-of-stay cleaning, a welcome basket on arrival, a guide to our own addresses on the island, and one contact person reachable throughout your stay.
On request: private airport transfer, car hire, private chef and Creole catering, in-villa massages, day trips to Petite-Terre, Les Saintes or Marie-Galante, pre-arrival grocery shopping, daily housekeeping. Details are on the services page.
Booking direct means no platform commission, and speaking to the owner rather than a customer service desk.
