A villa in the Gosier countryside
Le Gosier concentrates most of what draws people to Grande-Terre: the beaches, the evening restaurants, the islet a short crossing from the shore, and the airport close at hand. Most rentals line the coast, with the neighbours and passing traffic that implies.
Villa Rapha took a different view. It sits in the hills, in the Dubois area, about ten minutes from the town — far enough to hear nothing but birds, close enough to drive down for dinner without thinking about it. 260 m² for eight guests, a ten-metre pool, and a garden that encloses the property.
What you can reach from the house
- La Datcha beach and the town of Le Gosier: around ten minutes by car.
- Gosier islet: the shuttle leaves from the shore, the crossing takes a few minutes.
- Pointe-à-Pitre airport: twelve kilometres. You can land late in the day and dine at the villa that evening.
- Basse-Terre, the Carbet Falls and La Soufrière volcano: about an hour, via the Route de la Traversée.
- Les Saintes, Marie-Galante, Petite-Terre: a day each, sailing from the Grande-Terre harbours.
A car is essential, as it is everywhere on the island. Parking is inside the property, which saves hunting for a space in town in the evening.

A seafront villa costs twice: in price, and in peace and quiet. The hills above Le Gosier offer three things the coast rarely does.
Silence. No overlooking neighbours, no passing traffic. In the evening you hear the tropical night rather than the road.
Cooler air. Elevation and the trade winds make a few degrees' difference at the end of the day — which matters when you are eating outdoors.
Space. For the same budget, the plot is larger. Hence the ten-metre pool, the carbet, the pergola and the garden surrounding the house — all difficult to fit on a coastal plot.
The trade-off is openly stated: you cannot swim in the sea at the bottom of the garden. But the beach is ten minutes away, and you come home to quiet.
260 m², four bedrooms, four bathrooms
A 30 m² master suite upstairs, with dressing room, freestanding bath, private terrace, sun deck and a jacuzzi facing the countryside. Three air-conditioned ground-floor bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, opening onto the pool.
The living room opens onto the kitchen and its stone island. Outside, the ten-metre pool and sun deck, a bioclimatic pergola, and a carbet with Moroccan seating and a fire pit for the evenings.

For two or three travellers
The estate also includes two self-contained suite-apartments rated 3 stars, from €130 per night. Suite Lagon offers 52 m² and a 30 m² panoramic terrace with a private jacuzzi; Suite Corail has 49 m², a covered terrace and a private garden.
Booked alongside the villa, they bring the estate's capacity to around fifteen people. Taking the whole property is quoted individually — the arrangement chosen by extended families and multi-generation stays.
